Top Secret For Perfect Makeup? Review: Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer

Having the perfect skin base is essential for a flawless makeup look (see my skincare posts for more info on this), and the perfect primer can easily take your 'average' makeup look to an 'I'm ready for the red carpet' look, instantly!

It's no surprise that this 'red carpet ready' primer I've discovered is from a Korean brand - K-beauty is always at the top of the game! The brand, Touch in Sol, is a fairly new Korean makeup and skincare brand who aim to provide high-quality, innovate products at an affordable price point. Being the fastest growing Korean brand in Australia and an increasingly popular Korean brand in the US, Touch in Sol is now sold across many online retailers like ASOS, Cult Beauty and Feel Unique. The UK can finally join the party!

I first came across the brand when I was casually scrolling on ASOS and came across this 'No Poreblem' primer. I was instantly sold by the caption on the packaging which reads 'Top Secret For Perfect Makeup'. Of course, I didn't need any more convincing! *adds to basket*

I used this primer for the first time with my 10 minute makeup routine and by the end of the day, I was pleasantly surprised with how my makeup looked. I looked like I had only just applied my makeup! Being so shocked and not knowing how to handle my emotions of this top secret primer, I messaged my sister because I just couldn't keep this secret to myself! I still didn't want to keep my hopes up just after this one trial so I continued to use this with both light coverage and full coverage makeup looks. It's safe to say I'M ADDICTED!

This primer claims to give your makeup a matte finish, blur your pores to give you the perfect smooth makeup canvas and control sebum production to enhance the longevity of your makeup. It's also packed with natural extracts and anti-oxidants and somehow, 'builds an invisible barrier against elements'. The packaging is also very Korean and very cute! The primer comes in a small frosted glass bottle with a pump which makes application really easy! For just £15 you get 30ml of product. For comparison purposes, Benefit's Porefessional Primer is £27.50 for 22ml of product.

What I liked about this primer was the smooth gel-like texture it has. It did not feel heavy on the skin and a small pump (as seen below) is enough to cover my whole face. It is slightly fragranced - nothing too strong, but if you have sensitive skin, this may be something to note. Upon application, your skin feels very smooth and I proceed to apply my base makeup after this.My makeup glides on really well on top of this primer and I am able to blend my foundation seamlessly. Some mattifying primers really latch onto your makeup which makes your foundation unblendable, but this was not the case. I do feel like this primer has helped my makeup look more full-coverage and even makes my serum foundation from The Ordinary stay put all day long! Usually with this foundation, I have to powder throughout the day and the foundation breaks up around my nose. Since using it with this No Poreblem primer, the serum foundation looks FLAWLESS on me and gives me a comfortable matte finish. I feel like I can easily substitute it for my go-to full-coverage Maybelline Superstay foundation. Bearing this in mind, if you are wearing a heavier foundation, this primer might make your foundation look more 'cakey' which is what happened when I used the Maybelline Superstay Stick foundation.

If you have a normal to combination skin type and you're fed up of touching up your makeup throughout the day - try this primer! For dry skin, the mattifying effect this primer gives might accentuate any dry patches you have. For oilier skin types, I don't think the consistency of this primer would absorb well into the skin and could cause the primer and makeup to slide off.
