#KavitaTakesIndia - Dry Heat Skin Saviours

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I've just returned from my travels to India! A detailed blog post on my trip will be posted shortly but for now, I wanted to share some products that really helped me battle the dry heat during my stay.

Touch in Sol - All in One Beauty Aid Cream

The first time I used this product was on my flight to India and this kept my skin hydrated and moisturised for the entire 10 hour flight! Packed with ceramides, this helps replicate your skin's natural moisture barrier to help you maintain your youthful glow! The best part about this is that it's versatile - use this on your face and neck or anywhere you tend to get dry patches.I used this under my makeup and before bed every night and this helped the longevity of my makeup but also prevented my skin becoming dehydrated whether we were out in the sun or indoors with the AC on.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finishing Powder

I have mentioned this product a few times on my blog now and this was something I had to keep with me at all times. Long days and nights meant that my nose and cheeks started to get shiny in the evening but this powder 'deletes' any shine within seconds and does not cake up at all.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

This was one of the two concealers I bounced between on my trip. This concealer does not let you down when you're looking for a full coverage yet light-weight finish - the last thing you want to do is wear heavy makeup on a really hot day! My eyes looked wide awake and uplifted and cancelled out any darkness under my eyes. Even on the hottest days, this concealer did not budge once set!

Touch in Sol - No POREblem Primer

I have an entire blog post dedicated to this product - that's just how much I love it! This primer will change the way your makeup products sit on your skin. Added longevity with a poreless and even base is exactly what you need on your busiest days to stop you worrying about your makeup rubbing off or evaporating in the heat. Read my full review here.

NARS Climax Mascara

The hype is worth it. This mascara is the best mascara I've ever used! I can achieve a false-lash effect with one coat of this mascara and even more drama with 2 coats. This is the only mascara I used on my trip and applied this every day without fail! This mascara provides volume, tonnes of length and does not run/smudge in the heat. I did not miss wearing false lashes and actually looked forward to applying this mascara (lol).

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

If I wanted a more full coverage look I would use this concealer to give me that 'no foundation' look to conceal any problem areas as well as under my eyes. Using this concealer on top of the No POREblem primer gave me the evenest canvas I could ever dream off which did not budge at all. No oil peeked through and the rest of my makeup set well too. Here's a selfie I took on Diwali wearing only this concealer under my eyes and on any problem areas.

Maybelline Master Chrome Molten Gold Highlighter

The only highlighter I wore throughout this trip. After ensuring I had a matte, no-budge face base, this was the product that allowed me to channel the most beautiful natural glow! This is perfect for at home and abroad and it's available at such an affordable price point! Those were the main products that really helped me look after my skin and keep my makeup looking fresh all day in the dry (36-40c) heat however here are a few more top tips:

  • Sleeping with the AC on dehydrates your skin massively so as well as an intensive cream/oil, ensure you use an intensive lip balm too. There were days when I used Carmex and I would wake up with dry lips so I switched to Blistex's Intensive Moisture which really helped.

  • My hands got really dry throughout the day so I used the 'Yes To Coconut Intensive Hand and Cuticle Cream'. The only downside to this product is that I can only find it in a large size. For nights when this didn't fit into my bag, I carried the Body Shop Almond Cuticle Oil to make sure at least my nail cuticles were looked after!
