Pure Beauty: Medik8, Dermalogica and REN Skincare Review
Being a skincare enthusiast, a lot of my time goes towards browsing hundreds of skincare products online but this often leads to making multiple purchases from different retailers. Not only does this make it difficult to keep track of but the additional deliveries required makes it less eco-friendly, especially when you’re repurchasing products every few months or so.
I was excited when I came across Pure Beauty which sells some of my favourite brands at the best prices online! I used this product for the first time a few years ago (read my full review here) and still, I love this product! If you’re looking for a gentle exfoliator to use for a smooth, brighter and even skin tone, definitely check this out. The powder-to-foam consistency works great without feeling grainy while still exfoliating the deeper layers of your skin. With just a few drops of water, you can create a foamy consistency which you can massage all over your face and neck for a thorough daily cleanse.
For drier skin types, I would recommend easing this into your routine by using this 1-2 times a week. Even though this product is suitable for all skin types, it’s always worth taking extra precautions with new products to prevent causing further skin concerns. For me, I prefer to use this as a morning cleanse only and it’s perfect for a fresh face, the ideal canvas for the rest of my skincare and makeup routine! One of my main skin concerns is dark spots and love how this simple step in my routine helps clear my skin.
One more benefit of this cleanser is that it’s so travel-friendly. There is nothing worse than a leaked product in your bag but with this cleanser, you can be sure that won’t be the case! The packaging is designed to ensure no powder falls out when closed and if you don’t want to take the whole product, there is nothing wrong with pouring a small amount of cleanser powder into another container - just make sure it’s secure!
Medik8 Gentle Cleanse
Another daily cleanser but unlike Dermalogica, this is a foam consistency, activated by the pump, and is super gentle and hydrating for the skin. This is one of the most gentle face washes I have come across and is lightly infused with Rosemary which not only feels ultra calming when massaging this into your skin, it also helps prevent premature ageing. Being free from sulphates and soaps combined with the cleanser’s pH balanced formula is what ensures your skin is thoroughly cleansed without causing your skin to feel dry and tight after.
This cleanser can be used both morning and night - I tend to use this in rotation with the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant in the morning and as a cleanser in the evening (or a second cleanser if I’m wearing heavy makeup). As this cleanser is so easy to use, gentle on the skin, and suitable for all skin types, it’s actually a family favourite and we just keep repurchasing it!

REN Skincare Evercalm Global Protection day cream
A few years ago I had a major acne breakout which meant that my skin was super sensitive and at its worst, I could not use any skincare products without getting some sort or irritation. When I started researching for sensitive-skin friendly moisturisers, I found that although many products claim that they are suitable for sensitive skin types, looking at the ingredients, they often were too drying and harsh on the skin. When I started using REN’s Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream, I felt like I had finally found a moisturiser that was genuinely made with sensitive skin types in mind, easily replenishing and soothing my dry skin.
The Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream is made up of antioxidants and nourishing seed oils which help moisturise your skin but also prevent environmental damage which can cause premature ageing. The consistency of the moisturiser is creamy but not thick so it’s ideal for all year around and I didn’t have any issues of feeling too “greasy” or not moisturised enough.
If you have sensitive skin (or not) and want a new daily moisturiser, especially if you’re out and about in the city where pollution levels are higher, you will enjoy adding this moisturiser to your daily skincare routine.
